ball lingo pro

So the past couple of days have been pretty spectacular. Last night my sisters and their sig others and my momma came over for an impromptu dinner/ game night and talk about good times!!! We played a hilarious game of apples to apples. I'm not sure how long a typical game goes in a normal gathering, but we straight up played for a good three hours. I'm still convinced that flying monkeys are charismatic.
So I felt really on my A game today because I'm calling around to get better rates on my home and auto insurance. Quite a grown up thing to do, I kind of feel bad about not taking someones quote but I don't see the point in changing if I'm only saving 30 dollars but then have to turn around an pay a 25 dollar membership fee. Ugh! I'll keep looking. Anybody have any suggestions?
Had a fun night tonight. Lost two games of pool but had a blast doing it! Turns out my lil sis is a pool shark! No, not really, but she did get three balls in a row. Also, my ball lingo has grown. I know that little balls means the solid ones because of the low numbers, not that the balls are actually smaller. Quite confusing at the time, let me assure you! Slop is, not only what pigs eat, but also a term meaning you didn't call the pocket (aka hole) the ball was going in. Wow! I'm a Bon-a-fied pool player now! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, you can lay on the table as long as one foot is on the ground! Who knew?!?
Well it's off to bed for this gal. Pleasant dreams, blogger buddies. My surprise picture for the day is my twin sister showing off her "angry eyes" last week after tipping the liquid Valium drinks back. Stay tuned. Next surprise picture is classic or an epic fail depending on who ya are ;)

Lack of creamer

Time to put away the Christmas CDs and decorations...well I can't part with the decorations yet, but maybe after the first of the year I'll suck it up and put them away.  I feel so relieved that one of my goals was successful this year; I was able to make everyone at least one homemade present!  This next year I'm going to start early and make everything. I'm thinking about delving into woodworking next.

This blog entry is severely lacking due to the fact that I have yet to have my cup of coffee this morning. I'm out of creamer :(  Speaking of coffee, yesterday I watched the coolest documentary on the History channel about the history of coffee and it was quite entertaining.

Well it's off to start my day, I might post more later.

Three year old entertainment

Well it's well past my bedtime but I have yet to update my blog and thought I needed to get on it before I forget everything I wanted to report.  I am quite the absent minded individual, some call it ADD, I call it a genetic trait that is passed down from my mother and grandmother.  We get sidetracked easily and can never get back to what it was that we really wanted to say in the first place.  The funniest part is that when we are together, we do this and all of us just jump topics with each other and don't even realize we are doing it.  Only an outside observer notices and informs us of this.
I am happy to share that the annual Christmas sweater party was a big hit this weekend.  Everyone seemed to have a great time and we didn't run out of food and drinks, so I chalk that up to a success all around!
Last night I attended another Christmas party but it lacked the Christmasy feel.  I tried to have a good time, but it was challenging.  I like the people hosting the party well enough, but their friends aren't really my cup of tea.  I think I am fairly approachable and tolerant of drunkenness and drunk-speak, but my buttons were pressed numerous times that evening with ignorant comments and redneck ideology.  So what does one do when they don't like their surroundings but the person that they went with isn't ready to leave? They find the host's 3 year old upstairs and proceed to have a wonderful time being thoroughly entertained in typical 3 year old fashion!  I had an amazing time seeing all of the cool toys that were drug out of his bedroom and then we proceeded to watch the end of Wally, the beginning of The Mask, and then finally settled down to watch all of Kung Fu Panda and we both ended up falling asleep before the movie was ten minutes in (just another great example of my inability to stay up late). ;)

This morning I had a great time hanging with my mom and Jill.  Mom and I went to an awesome bookstore and lost ourselves in books for well over an hour, until Jill located us, and then we had a great lunch.  After that, we went to a Goodwill I'd never been to and I found some amazing presents for my sisters.  I know I said I am making presents this year, but you can only make so much, and I have decided that they will get one homemade present and then a couple of thrift store presents that go along with it.  I can't believe that Christmas is in 4 days! Next year I am definitely starting early! (Although, I say that every year, I am going to mean it this time.

I found a cool book today at the Goodwill, it's called Cary Grant: The Light Touch by Lionel Godfrey.  I felt like it was a must read, due to my new found love of black and white classics.  Also, did you know that Cary Grant's real name was Archibald Leach? I didn't! That is what sealed the deal, I had to own it.  I also found a really cool book by Katherine Hepburn about her trip to Africa and how she almost lost her mind.  That one is next!

Blender-fied and hating it!

Ever feel like you are in a blender and just when everything settles down, someone punches the power button?  I am those small bits in a blender that are being over chopped!  (Dramatic but true.)
I have routines and adapt to change slowly.  I work at one location and know it like the back of my hand.  I know my customers and what they need.  I dislike how I have virtually no warning when they decide to move me to a different location, a location I have not been in for over a year.  Voicing my qualms get me nowhere.  I don't mind helping people out, I am always there, but I am angry that they keep things from me until the last possible moment and give me no time to prepare because they avoid confrontation.

This morning, I set off three alarms and can't find the alarm key anywhere.  It goes off at a piercing shrill for five minutes until I find the key, then I have no idea where the key goes.  Not a great way to start the day.  I was welcomed back by the UPS man, who still remembered me from three years ago, that kind of brightened my day back up.

So, I am going to be massively busy in preparation for the best holiday party of the year! Tomorrow morning, I will be baking, cooking, cleaning and rocking out to some Christmas music at full blast.  Yesterday, mom surprised me with the Indigo Girls Holiday CD, which is amazing!  I also planned a day with Jen to watch Casablanca, a movie I have to see since I love black and white films (and have never seen that one), and Despicable Me (I love that movie!)  She works this dreadful schedule that makes her days really nights, and everyone who knows me knows I am SO NOT a night person.  I am usually sawing logs at 10.  This has put a crimp in our hang out time.

Holiday baking is right around the corner, well next week! I can't wait!!! We usually all pick a couple of things to make and then make them in large quantities.  Trade, and get a little of what everyone else makes, and then make holiday baskets.  Great family traditions!

Sorry to report that classic book reading has fallen to the wayside.  I think I might try again after the first of the year.  But I did become a couch surfer and it feels awesome!  No one has surfed my couch yet, but I will be ready when they want to!

P.s.  Sorry for the vent session earlier, just needed to let it out and let it go.  :)

The fashionista's twin

Nothing exciting to report on the home front.  I braved the elements (elements being mass shoppers at mall) yesterday and got a battery for the guitar tuner.  Maybe I should call it the instrument tuner since I will be using it to tune my mandolin.  I also couldn't tell myself, "NO" when it came to this really cute coat that was on sale.  I'm addicted to coats.  I want them in every color to go with every outfit. But this coat was spectacular; kind of like a baby doll coat mixed with a pea coat with tulle on the bottom...AND in my favorite color (black)!  I can't seem to make myself wear bright colors.  It is not in my genetic make up.  My twin sister must have got all of the color genes.  I drift towards browns, tans, hunter green, navy, rust, cream, gray, burgundy, black...etc...  My sister can pull off the cute colors, yellow, kelly green, pink, red, purple, blah blah blah... We are identical, but she has the innate confidence and poise to pull vibrant colors off.  I like to blend into the surroundings.  (No camo though, can't pull that one off either.)  Kris is the fashionista and I am the fashionista's twin.
Having a twin is the best thing in the world! (Mom probably didn't think so in the whole having us moment but still...) I have had a playmate and best friend every moment of my life.  Some kids say they were lonely as a child, I never was.  My twin and I could entertain ourselves no matter where we were or what we were doing.  Then we got a little sister and woohoo! That was fun! We dressed her up and did her hair and she hated us at the time.  She was our baby! Five year olds dig playin' house and we had a real life baby to play with!  How cool were we!?! Haha...Kels has been a blast!  Her coolness factor has steadily climbed and she has surpassed me.  I couldn't be more proud!  Anyway, growing up with buddies didn't prepare me for being alone.  Mom joked the other day with one of those sayings, "You came into this world alone...blah blah blah" well then she laughed and said,"well I guess you didn't..." I am still dealing with the fact that our lives are taking us in different directions and it IS normal not to see your sisters for weeks at a time.  Eh, oh well...moving on...

Last night I sat down, completely dedicated to making some presents, and about 10 minutes in, I feel odd.  So I decide to go lay down.  About 10 minutes after that I proceed to get sick.  Terrible! I turn into this completely different life form when I'm sick.  I call my mom asking what to do (mom = nurse), when I know that there is nothing to do, except prepare for the next round.   Blah, so an hour later, I peel myself off the floor and trudge to bed (packing trash can just in case).  I sleep remarkably well and wake up feeling okay.  I'm thinking it was the food I ate.  The restaurant shall remain nameless, but I will not visit them again, at least not for a while.

Tonight on the agenda, I will be going to support some local musicians. Country is their forte, and since said musicians asked opinions on song selections, mine had better be in the set list.  ;)

I also need to muster up the energy to do some cleaning.  The house is going into a downward spiral from my lack of dedication in cleaning it.  Alas, just got a phone call and the cleaning will have to wait.  Gran wants a perm in her hair and who am I to refuse my gran!?! (The cleaning wasn't that appealing anyway)

Happy Wednesday, Blogging Buddies!

Dinner party greatness

This weekend was absolutely amazing and I couldn't have had a better time! Saturday, after getting off work early, I went to my mom's house for dinner and games because one of my favorite people came into town.  We dined on authentic Thai food (ooooh spicy!) and put out the mouth fires with some different types of wine.  Potstickers were cooked and eaten so fast, we went ahead and called them appetizers.  It was there, amid all of the food preparation, that I created the pink hat (shown in craftytwin blog).

Also this past weekend, I added a new edition to the furniture family, my very own futon for the library/ guest room.  It goes with my motif perfectly!  Now I will have to obtain some storage totes to slide underneath it to house all of my crafts that are slowly taking over the house. (That's what is on my to do list today)

Another task I must do is to sit down and plan out the menu for the Christmas party that is fast approaching.  Only five days to get the house looking immaculate and all of the yummy dishes cooked!  Christmas lights still need to go up outside too, but now that will be kind of tricky with five inches of snow covering all of the sidewalks and surrounding patches of ground. (It is so pretty though, I love snow!!!)

That's all for now folks, maybe more later.

Tweed!

Great morning! I am wearing one of my favorite outfits (brown tweed vest, over a ruffled old school looking button up white shirt, brown pants and TWEED shoes! Pretty pumped to say the least.  Oh and my hair did exactly what I told it to do too!

Didn't have time to make myself some coffee but I honestly probably didn't need it, as I woke up feeling refreshed.  I had a quiet evening alone at home last night, sipping wine in front of my make believe fireplace, complete with fireplace cover.  I went to bed around midnight and woke this morning feeling like a million bucks!  I remembered to pack my yarn so that I can craft while at work, and I get off early today! Woohoo! Great day.  My cousin is coming in town this weekend for a little Christmas visit and mom is actually cooking food, I can't wait.

I can finally sit comfortably, without cringing in pain at every joint movement.  Thank you muscles, for not hating me for life.  Also, this morning I found a nice looking futon on craigslist and not a bad price on it at all.  I sent them a message and they replied.  So tomorrow I might actually have a library/ guest room for when family and friends come into town (cough, cough, Erica and Lincoln get a real bed...well futon, but same difference)

First customer of the day..gotta run!

Curtain Fairies and Commercialism

My day was an interesting one, to say the least.  I hung out with the ADT security man all day while he installed the new system, sold some phones and was bored out of my mind until I realized I had left my craft tote in the truck.  At 3 o'clock I started crafting in between phone sales.  I also found some amazing new ideas to try while perusing the crafting websites.  I learned how to make a Chinese take-out container today too! Pretty excited about that! Maybe I'll put all my Christmas presents in those instead of wrapping, because they double as cute storage boxes for nick knacks.

The curtain fairies came to my house today while I was at work.  I have b-e-a-utiful new curtains in my bedroom! (a special thank you to Curtain Fairy Debbie and Teri)
I didn't think that they would be "me" but I was wrong.  They look so pretty! I am admitting, I was quite afraid of ruffles and frillies...I shouldn't have been.  Now when I have to take them down and wash them, that will be another story.  This documentation will probably be the prettiest anyone will ever see them ;)

I think I might need a bubble bath; all of my muscles are still screaming from that stupid ab ripper x video.  I must be terribly out of shape.  I need more mint bubble bath though and can't seem to make myself go to the dreaded mall at Christmastime.  Vanilla will have to suffice for now.  Speaking of vanilla, I got the best creamer ever!! I don't even have to put sugar in my coffee anymore! Wonderful.  I think I am going to be a big girl and even own a coffee grinder.  I am taking baby steps away from commercialism and prepackaged, preservative filled foods and drinks.  I am making a conscious effort to reduce, reuse, recycle and eat healthy.  Kind of like a new years resolution but I was never good at keeping those so I am going to call this a long term lifestyle change!

Morning blogging and rearranging

Ugh! I just proved my point... I have the same routine every morning.  Waking up earlier than necessary, I make a cup of tea or coffee and then curl up in a fleece blanket on the couch in front of my lighted Christmas tree.  I have the laptop open and my blog entry just flows out of me.  It's a system that I have mastered over the past couple of weeks of my blog's existence.  I have tried writing in the afternoon, but it's like my wittiness doesn't come out to play and all I get is a boring description of my day to day play by play.

I proved my point just now by accidentally deleting everything I had just written with the stupid laptop mouse pad scrolly thingy. (I hate technology sometimes!)  I didn't have time or an inclination this morning to write so I thought I'd try it now, as I am tucked into my freshly laundered sheets and laying in the middle of my antique sleigh bed (yard sale $80 woohoo) that I rearranged into a new place in my bedroom today.  I finished Christmas-fying my bedroom today.  New Christmas comforter on the bed, that now resides in a different place.  I think I like it this way best of all.  (Note to all: I am a rearrangaholic) I am now down to a small hill of laundry, instead of the avalanche of before.  The only room left to tackle is my library.  It won't be too hard to do, I just need to dust and put decorations up!

I'm kind of drained tonight.  I think I overdid it with the full yoga workout, ab ripper x, and the house clean overhaul/ rearrange-athon.  It's off to bed for this tired body.  I'll try to post pictures of my finished bedroom, bathroom and kitchen tomorrow :)

Knocking the Classics out!

I have managed to finally get my ducks in a row, now I just have to wait until the pond is unfrozen.  January 3rd I will test out of all of the sections of cosmetology and, if successful,  I will then start my internship at the salon where I was promised a job.  After two months, I will go take the state boards and then be finished with this chapter of schooling.  I heard a commercial on the radio yesterday about how another college is teaming up with the local branch here in town to offer a Master's program in Counseling.  As soon as I heard this, I thought  it sounded like something I'd be good at.  Everyone talks to me and I seem to be able to come up with the right things to say to help them with whatever they are going through. Eh, who knows.  I really still want to do the Master's in Library Science...

I talked to an old friend last night who is getting his Master's in Birmingham, AL.  I asked if he knew anyone before moving...Nope.  It was just him and his dog.  This is yet another example of some gutsy people I know.  On another subject entirely, my mom is in this program called couchsurfing.  If you have never heard of it, check it out!  People send her messages asking to stay for a night or two as they are traveling across the country.  She has had some amazing people come to visit.  It is a great way to travel if you dont want to pay the extremely high prices of hotels. I haven't enrolled myself yet, but keep thinking it sounds like a great thing to do.

I got all of my Christmas cards into the envelopes and all of the envelopes addressed.  Now I just have to find where I put those pesky stamps!
Found the stamps, hit the post office because apparently between now and the last time I used these Christmas stamps, the rate has increased three cents.  Then I went to the Goodwill, Salvation Army Thrift store and UMC Thrift store and found some absolutely amazing treasures.  Also, I managed to convince Jody and mom that the library was a top priority.  I got eight classics to read as well as three just for fun books.  Mom and I are going to have a race after we read our classics, because we happened to find two classics for sale of the same book.  We are going to have a reading challenge. haha seemed like a good idea at the time and it's probably the only way we are going to get through some of these books.  Her reading is coming from the top books on NPR's book list, while mine are coming from the BBC's Big Read list.  No more smut for me, until I can knock some of the classics out!

Game Face and Christmas Cards

Sorry to report that I didn't make it to the tacky Christmas sweater party.  After getting off work and making it to my grandparents house, I had already slid across the road twice in 4-wheel drive.  The party was to be held off of a ridiculously curvy road, which = party no go...

Sometimes animals are a pain in the arse...Sadie (the dog) will now run away when you let her out to go use the bathroom facilities.  So you have to leash her and take her to potty.  She is quite stubborn though and refuses to go, after whining at the front door for five minutes.  Frustrating! Then, Banjo (the cat) will meow at the door when he needs out, you let him out and he wanders around and comes back.  He is the perfect dog trapped in a cat's body.  He even tries to eat the dog food.  I hear a noise in the kitchen, go in and find his little tail swishing back and forth out from the top of the dog food bag.  He is sneaky.

I am thinking I need to tackle Christmas cards today.  Best to get an early start or half of them won't get mailed out, just like last year.

So about two months ago, I got new neighbors that moved into the house across the street.  I got quite excited at the prospect of having normal people live around me.  (A few months back I had the most juvenile teenybopper couple you could ever imagine.  They fought all of the time, which I could hear through my walls.  There is a good twenty feet between the houses.  Plus, they had a baby that would just flat out wail when they fought.  That was the part that made me sad.  I couldn't believe these two adults didn't know any better than that.  They finally got evicted and all was peaceful again due to two of the three houses around being vacant.)
So anyway, new neighbors move in across the street.  The two women were odd.  They just stared at me when I went outside.  I waived, they stared.  Talk about un-friendly.  Let me also mention that they are from Michigan.  SO, I try really hard to be nice.  Sadie runs over to their yard one day, and I go chase her.  Apologizing all over myself for her behavior, they in turn, coddle their BIG chow dog that was snapping and growling and completely ignored me.  Now I am pissed.  So I drag Sadie back home and find a note reminder on my door.  I think to myself, "This is odd.  Wonder what it could be?!"  It was a note from the sanitation department that told me I needed to keep my garbage cans out of visible sight.  I've never, in my three years of living here, ever gotten this notice and I leave my garbage cans in the same place.  So I call my uncle,  he tells me that someone had to have complained about it for them to leave that note.  Guess who??? Yep, it was them.  Then, I have animal control driving up and down the street for the next week (who just so happens is another uncle of mine).  He lets me know that they are trying to get all of the animals that wander around. AKA Banjo...He tells me that he'll keep an eye out and make sure Banjo doesn't get picked up though.  I guess that was the silver lining.  The sharks across the street didn't know I had connections.  But who do they think they are? Trying to run me out? I own mine and they just rent.  I am staying friendly and amicable for now, but three strikes and I'll dust off my game face and go into full on attack mode.  Their chow dog escaped and somehow managed to get tangled in my basement last week.  It was last Sunday to be exact. The couple get home and one of them run over and are apologizing profusely, Queen Bee (the other one), is standing in her front yard and doesn't say one word.  She is the un-friendly of the two.  But now, a week later, still no waive back.  Mom said I need to show them some southern hospitality.  Take them a pie and tell them, "I don't know how ya'll do it up north, but down here we are nice to our neighbors and calling and reporting me to every authority in the city isn't nice."  I don't think this will fly. I was also supposed to tell them that they are giving lesbians everywhere a bad image.  Probably not gonna tell them that either.  Maybe I'll just send them a Christmas card.  Spread some Christmas cheer and get them out of their neighbor hating funk.  Yep, that sounds like a winner!

Well, I best be on my way.  Today is the day I get all of my ducks in a row. :)

Note: Kind of ironic... This morning, I read a funny blog about smoke detector escapades and laugh out loud.  I then write my blog and depart to make one of those yummy sandwiches I mentioned with tomatoes (I found awesome ones at the grocery store).  I'm making my sandwich and put it in my toaster oven, and sparks shoot out of the thing.  My sandwich was touching one of the coils.  So I relocate it to the middle.  A minute later, my smoke detector goes off.  It's in my bedroom, but not directly over the bed.  I am fanning the air around the daggon thing to make it stop and trying not to whack my head on the ceiling fan blades.  I got it stopped, but thought to myself, "now there is a healthy dose of karma."  I laugh at her antics and then end up in the same flippin' boat :)
Happy Monday, Blogger Buddies!

Tacky Christmas Sweaters!

I'm not slipping, I promise!  I have thought about blog posting all weekend, but work has been busy as usual and interfered in my daily routine I've established.  I've had a pretty decent weekend though, if I do say so myself.  Last night we had friends over and ate some wonderful sushi and had a great wine to go with it.  I slept like a baby and woke up this morning feeling more refreshed than I have in a long time!  Night before last we had Momma and her significant other over for dinner, along with Debbie and Gerald.  Ty grilled and I bought some amazing hummus and roasted red pepper and pesto cheese...MMMMmmmmm Good!!! I loved that hummus.. (it was infused with a BUNCH of garlic)

Today, I called and wished my Gran a very happy birthday and will be taking her the hat I made, after I get off work! I'm also making my grandad a scarf for Christmas.  It's been slow at the store, probably due to the snow continuing to fall all day. (Which is oh so pretty to look at!) I'm attending a tacky Christmas sweater party tonight and, I must admit, I'm pretty darn pumped!!!   Nothing like a weekend jam-packed with great friends!    I'll be sure to take pictures and post tomorrow!
Goodnight Blogger buddies :)

Pot stickers and Pepsi

Yesterday hit GREAT on the Richter scale.  My house is almost completed besides the laundry, office, library, and bedroom.  Woohoo!!! I was given an amazing dining room table that is absolutely gorgeous and can't wait to use it.  It is solid wood and hand crafted with two drop leaf sections.  No scratches and oh so glossy! So now I'll have more room for starters and I didn't need the huge monstrosity of a table I had unless I was entertaining.

Speaking of entertaining, I'm pretty excited about my annual Christmas party.  My house has never looked this good.  My bathroom is only one color now (instead of three) and a pretty color at that.  I'm a terrible paint picker outer, and by terrible, I mean absolutely horrendous colors.  Baby poop green and gag me peach. (Those were my names for them).  They were supposed to be Sage and Toasted Almond.  Hahaha...They really suckered me there!  My bathroom now goes by the color Applesauce Cake and Espresso for the trim work.

I'm watching the sun rise this morning through my living room window.  Sitting here in my flannel p.j.s and snuggie, I'm quite cozy.  Sometimes it's nice to tune out of the hustle and bustle and watch something that is bigger than all of us. Colors spearing through the sky and slowly spreading!  My favorite part of beach vacations is watching the sun rise and set.  Those are absolutely breathtaking.

I'm trying to ponder just where I want my day to take me.  I could crank up the music and knock out this laundry and clean my library.  I really need to start on my craft projects.  Hmmm....who knows.  The day is early yet.  Oh geeze!  Talk about some major A.D.D. I just glanced at my title and completely forgot to tell you the best part of my day yesterday!!! For dinner, I dined on pot stickers and Pepsi, and homemade too!! They are quite an ordeal to make and I was tickled that I got them.  I froze some and put a few in the fridge for breakfast! (Oh another note about me:  I don't eat typical breakfast food unless in an odd mood or having a wild hair. I like that type of food but for lunch or dinner.  I love BLT sandwiches for breakfast! Or if I am feeling chef-esk, I toast bread and cut Havarti cheese chunks, crush up basil, drizzle honey, and slice a tomato.  Combine the ingredients together and the sandwich melts in your mouth and your eyes roll back in your head.  So good.  Better for summertime breakfast though, when you can use fresh from the garden tomatoes).

So I paid my property taxes yesterday, and that got me thinking.  I am always going to be paying the government, long after I pay off my house.  This sucks.  Plus, in the great state I am located, you also have to pay property taxes on your vehicle, new value too, until it hits the 10 year mark.  So, my awesome lil Toyota Tacoma that I just couldn't live without, costs me 300 a year for another six years on top of my payments. But oh, it's a pretty truck.  I call it my dream truck.  As does everyone else in my family, even Gran.  That's all I would talk about, back when I was driving my little '02 Grand-Am and cursing the automatic windows that always broke! Those dreaded windows made for some interesting times though.. Imagine driving down the highway in the gushing rain and praying that the duct tape didn't start to say adios...and then when it did, taking your crazy roommate out and putting almost an entire roll back on it.   So, I guess I can't complain too awful much.  But I could move a state over and only pay taxes on my vehicle one time!  Crazy!!! Ugh.

That's all for now folks.  Have a great day!

Baby, it's cold outside!

Brrrrrrrrr, I'm freezing and it is all because of my terrible memory.  Yesterday, I was cleaning my house and it was growing quite warm, so Debbie told me to turn it off.  I thought this a great idea at the time, but when you wake up to a chilly 50 degree living room because you forgot to turn the thermostat back on, and all you are wearing at the time of discovery are shorts and a t-shirt...not such a good idea.  There is definitely a dusting of snow outside my window right now and I am pretty darn pumped!!!  I don't want to get out from under this fleece blanket any time soon, and luckily, I woke up extremely early and can veg out for a bit.  I might venture into the kitchen and make me some chamomile tea but then it's back under the blanket until it gets warmer.
Are you ready? Ready to hear about how amazingly productive I was? Oh yes, my friends, I did some big things yesterday.  I talked of doing yoga and drinking tea yesterday morning and that was what turned the tables on my day.  Going into the kitchen to make tea, I take my blinders off and see that tiny elves have attacked my kitchen.  They left dirty dishes and a messy counter top in their wake, not to mention a full garbage can of almost overflowing proportions.  So, I put my water on to boil and attack the mess.  My kitchen is shiny and my dishes are done and even put away by the time my tea is ready.  (Who knows where that burst of energy came from at 7:30?!?) So, then I meander my way into the living room to do some yoga and realize that my tables are cluttered and there are clothes on the chair.  So I pop the yoga DVD in and start to clean as she is introducing some techniques.  I hurry and lay down and start to mimick her (should I mention I'm a novice at yoga? Or is it evident?).  This DVD goes from entry level poses to poses like intense forward bend almost before I can realize what is happening.  Needless to say, I am intensely sore today because I didn't catch the transition.  Bah!
So after yoga, Debbie came over and we got our clean on, and worked some magic on my dining room.  (My house was kind of a disaster due to my dining room ceiling having to be replaced from a big storm in March).  The ceiling was fixed last week and all that remained was the mess.  Not anymore though! We cleaned and I think I heard the Cinderella theme song playing in my head at one point.
Now all that remains is decorating for Christmas in the dining room and the avalanche of laundry that keeps growing.  I swear I do one load and five more multiply. Can you see what happens when I let it slide(hehe get it? Slide? )Train wreck!!!
Oh-my-goodness!!! It is definitely snowing big fat snowflakes, the kind that catch on your eyelashes and that can actually land on your tongue!  I wonder if my mom is at her house? I could definitely take a stroll with Sadie in the snow and have a visit...No, let me come back to earth...Sadie could drag me down the two blocks and I'd end up falling onto the snow slicked road.  Maybe not such a good idea.  (Sadie = 80 lb chocolate lab that has yet to learn how to take a leisurely stroll).
Nah, I think I will just stay in this morning...Maybe I'll call and invite her to breakfast...Yes, that's what I'll do. Ugh! No go!  Guess it's a solitary breakfast for this gal.  I'll post pictures of my pretty Christmas rooms soon!

Still have to tackle my room and the library.  I'll finish the bathroom and kitchen and post those pictures soon! :)

Sadie decided to sleep on the job!
