Ever feel like you are in a blender and just when everything settles down, someone punches the power button? I am those small bits in a blender that are being over chopped! (Dramatic but true.)
I have routines and adapt to change slowly. I work at one location and know it like the back of my hand. I know my customers and what they need. I dislike how I have virtually no warning when they decide to move me to a different location, a location I have not been in for over a year. Voicing my qualms get me nowhere. I don't mind helping people out, I am always there, but I am angry that they keep things from me until the last possible moment and give me no time to prepare because they avoid confrontation.
This morning, I set off three alarms and can't find the alarm key anywhere. It goes off at a piercing shrill for five minutes until I find the key, then I have no idea where the key goes. Not a great way to start the day. I was welcomed back by the UPS man, who still remembered me from three years ago, that kind of brightened my day back up.
So, I am going to be massively busy in preparation for the best holiday party of the year! Tomorrow morning, I will be baking, cooking, cleaning and rocking out to some Christmas music at full blast. Yesterday, mom surprised me with the Indigo Girls Holiday CD, which is amazing! I also planned a day with Jen to watch Casablanca, a movie I have to see since I love black and white films (and have never seen that one), and Despicable Me (I love that movie!) She works this dreadful schedule that makes her days really nights, and everyone who knows me knows I am SO NOT a night person. I am usually sawing logs at 10. This has put a crimp in our hang out time.
Holiday baking is right around the corner, well next week! I can't wait!!! We usually all pick a couple of things to make and then make them in large quantities. Trade, and get a little of what everyone else makes, and then make holiday baskets. Great family traditions!
Sorry to report that classic book reading has fallen to the wayside. I think I might try again after the first of the year. But I did become a couch surfer and it feels awesome! No one has surfed my couch yet, but I will be ready when they want to!
P.s. Sorry for the vent session earlier, just needed to let it out and let it go. :)
