It all started at 7 a.m., which came just a little bit early for my tastes. Lil sis wouldn't get out of bed and is a classic grouch so I had to use brute force to remove the covers from her sleeping frame. That kid had a death grip on those blankets! Anyway, she is ticked but I distinctly remember her stating that I had to make sure she got up and ready for class.
Keep in mind, I am a morning person. After the five minute wake up window I need, I was raring to go! She looked and me and uttered, "I don't talk in the mornings." Ooooookayyyyyyy then.... Finally, after cattle prodding, I got her to get a move on.
We loaded up in the truck and I was headed to drop her off at school. She was busy fiddling with her hair and forgot to tell me the exit. She quickly glanced up and says, "Oh, it's this exit!" So, I whip into the lane and we were still on track (or so we thought). We continue to drive a good distance and then she started to get the wrinkled forehead. I grew concerned but gave her the benefit of the doubt. After all, she does DRIVE THIS EVERY DAY! So, I casually asked her what was wrong and she uttered that nothing seemed familiar anymore. I tried to help, "Do you usually pass a rest area? Does that exit sound familiar? Should we be seeing farm land?" Nothing. So, needless to say, we took a wrong exit and didn't realize it for 25 miles. We were headed to Cincinnati on 71 North.

I need my GPS woman to tell me these things! Even if she has to yell at me in her little British accent to listen and follow directions.
We turn around but get stuck in some crappy traffic for a good long while but are, at least, back on track. She tells me to get off on the exit so and so, I do and then she decided it wasn't the right one. It took an hour and a half to get her to class when it should have taken 20 minutes.
Then, I am solely relying on the GPS to get me back to the apartment but it feels like it has its little GPS hand on my collar and is leading me around blindly. I quickly take some exit to get back onto the freeway but some stupid semi won't let me over so I have to take the freaking exit again since I never got out of the lane. Ugh! At this point I am wishing it were socially acceptable to have a drink at 10 a.m. because this was definitely an I need a shot moment. Cursing like a sailor and driving like a race car driver is not how I typically fill my mornings.
My morning does get better though. I found the Starbucks near her casa and proceeded to get a drink and drive around that little area. What do you know! There was a Half Priced Used Bookstore across the street!!! I spent an hour browsing and added three new books to my collection and only spent 5 bucks!

Probably going to spend my V day reading a good book and might even take myself a little nap! Hope you all have a great Monday!
You should've just continued on to Cincinnati and visited me! I wouldn't let you pet my Puppy.. hahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI got Starbucks this morning too. Oh, and I haven't read the other two, but Memoirs of a Geisha is a great book!
