Let me start off my post by letting you know how great the past two days have been for me! Thursday I get to school and the teacher assigns me a pedicure (now, I know all of you are thinking, Gross! Stranger's feet in your face all night...it's the same thought I had) and so I trudge to set up my supplies, secretly hoping that the lady is a no show for the evening. All hopes were dashed when she waltzed through the door ten minutes later. I know I said this was a great day, but bear with me, I'm getting to that part.
So, I sit the client down and start the process. Turns out, I have quite a bit in common with this sixty year old woman! Turns out, she is a really cool person! She invited me to take a quilting class with her this fall and is going to call me when it starts. How cool, right? She also told me that her feet had never felt as good as they did now. So the warm fuzzies start flowing in because I made her day.
So, I wake up feeling extremely lazy today and dreading the long work day ahead of me; if my sister had taken me up on the Goodwill shopping expedition I probably would have called in sick, I know, I know, shame on me for even thinking it! So, I get to the store, balancing half a dozen things and mentally preparing to run to the security system to disable it, when I find that I have actually locked instead of unlocking the door. Now I am thinking to myself, "Awww SHIT! Someone went and left the F***ing store unlocked..." turns out, I got to work with the new girl today. She was a blast; I had the best working day because she was my company! Don't get me wrong, work still sucked and we were swamped, but having company was a treat! Now on to my great day numero 2 complete with warm fuzzies..
A lady came in today that had gotton royally messed up on her accounts because she went to wirefly...Don't ever ever ever go there to get a phone. They created her a completely new account and she was locked into another contract. So, I spent the better part of three hours with her and her husband (both elderly) trying to get everything straightened out. The cheapest I could get was terminating two of the lines for $150. I was bummed that she had to use her Christmas money she'd be saving, so I sweet talked the customer service rep and got it waived! They were the nicest couple ever! Offered to buy us food and everything. I declined, but was genuinely touched that they even offered. Those nice old people make me feel so good about my job. It gives me purpose and makes it feel like I make a difference, even if I do work for a fortune five hundred- corporate- money hungry- bia*ch of a company. I am still in it for the little man! I don't make sh*t, but sometimes those are the breaks. At least I get the warm fuzzies every once in a while. Remind me next week when I am bit**ing about my job, about those warm fuzzies, okay?
(p.s. Someone came in and actually noticed my haircut today, sweet, huh?!) ;)
I really need to watch my potty mouth, it was filthy today. I tried to edit but might have overlooked some letters where there should be *s. Sorry. Anyway, I am about to get off work, and hopefully go have a cold one where ever I can find one. I need to celebrate my great two days!
I feel like since you edit your profanity in your blog, that "a cold one" to you would be a nice, chilled glass of milk or something... haha. It surely can't be alcohol!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good couple of days!
