So, I am pretty darn excited about this weekend! I have a hot Valentine's date with my nephew! He's the coolest kid ever! My sister called me last night and I could hear him in the background rambling on and on. They had just got back from Gattyland and were in a heated debate as to whether or not he really needed another cookie before bed since he had chocolate ice cream at the restaurant. He is a very good persuasive arguer. (I think he ended up with the cookie)
Anyway, hearing his voice made me realize that it's been forever since we've had a hang out day. I asked Kris what day I could have him and she, in turn, asked him. He came back with, "Maybe Sunday or Monday? I think that would work best for me..." So freaking adorable! We are gonna go see that new Gnomeo and Juliet movie; I would honestly go by myself if I couldn't get him, I love kid movies. Usually he goes to his dad's so I rarely get an entire day and night with him so we are gonna go all out! Slumber partying it up! Kris is making me take him to daycare on Monday, which is a major bummer, I wanted to keep him until my night class. Oh well, can't mess with a kid's routine too much.
I cannot wait until spring, this snow is wearing me out. I want to sit on my front porch rocking chair, feeling the breeze on my face, smelling the herbs in my garden (which I still need to plant). I want it to be just chilly enough to need a throw blanket but not so cold that my fingers resemble Popsicles. I want a really good book in my hand that has me deeply enthralled, and I want it to be dusk and the sky to be the pretty orange-pink color. Maybe I would also have a cup of hot chocolate or mint tea beside me. That is my dream spring evening.
Shew! It's already been a busy work day, and here I was hoping it'd be slow. I'm actually going to take a lunch today, since they dock it anyway (I usually don't). Yeah, my bosses are shady. But what can a gal do? Mom is coming to eat lunch with me and we are going to try the good ol' fashioned home cookin' restaurant next door ;) I loooooove country cooking! Give me collard greens, vinegar and onions and I'm all set!
I got really busy and wasn't able to post before lunch, so I am posting now. The greens were amazing, btw. Mom informed me at lunch she wants to be a "green builder". She wants to take classes and learn to do plumbing, carpentry, electrical things in a green way. There are classes and such that teach these. Mom and my uncle are going to split up the categories and each do half, so that together they make a "green" independent contracting company. I think this sounds like a great idea! I am glad she is doing something she will love.
Well, this entry has officially taken me all day to post. The customers wouldn't stop!
Have a good weekend, blogging friends. I'll report on my stellar date soon!
