Week recap follows:
Monday: Cleaned apartment for lil sis and packed her clothes
Tuesday: Took lil sis to class and hung out in library to take her home.. Plans changed and I ended up driving back alone. (This was a circus and a half! My GPS lost satellite signal and the dang thing fell off my window. Needless to say, I'm sure I made onlookers nervous with my antics. Got back into town and then promptly went to see a brand new baby that was absolutely the cutest baby I've seen in a long while!
Wednesday: Filed taxes in the morning and then went to class like a good kid is supposed to do. I was exhausted from all of the weekend antics but trudged along. I was assigned a pedicure at 8 p.m. (we are supposed to get out at 9). The lady proceeded to try to "help" me squeeze the lotion out and I ended up with lotion all over my face and all over my clothes. She laughed uncontrollably. I was saying obscenities in my mind but pasted the cheesy grin on the whole time. Should have been an actress!
After leaving school, at 10 p.m., I drove to a local bar to hear some good music and wind down. Mom and the twin were there and we proceeded to have a ball. I felt like it was a Cheers moment in that everyone knew my name ;)
Anyway, my friends bought me beers and the bartender, who is an absolute peach, decided to try out new shot recipes. She made this absolutely amazing shot that tasted just like Wurther's Original candy. My friend Aaron christened the shot "Grandpa's Pocket". She passed us all out shots and gave me an extra one. It was such a fun time and I got quite sloshed. "Grandpa's Pocket" knocked me on my rear end! Aaron tricked the momma into giving him a kiss, which is no easy feat to do. Props go to him, but she was a little bit intoxicated.
Thursday: Trek back up to Louisville to get the little sis and then went to yet another bar establishment and listened to a fabulous band last night. They had a fiddle player that was a genius!
Friday: Today I am working and after work, I plan to relax with one of the awesome books that was listed in the last blog; I am sucked right into the story at this moment. I also plan on rubbing muscle cream all over my neck and shoulders to alleviate some of the tension that is lurking there, and then soak in a pile of minty bubbles until my toes are pruney and the water is cold. After that, I plan on wrapping myself in the largest, fluffiest, cosiest robe I own and crawl into bed with a cup of mint tea or vanilla caramel truffle tea, both are heaven in a cup. Then, I am going to read my book until my eyelids are droopy and I drift off to dreamland.

And more inspiration to grow my hair...
Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! I have found my style icon! Googling the images above, I stumbled upon a designer that must be my style twin! I know, I know, I already have a twin.. But, wow! Her clothing is perfect! Check her out! Lena Hoschek

This seriously makes me want to start making clothes! I haven't had the sewing machine out since Christmas, it's looking like a good time to blow the dust off of it and start browsing for material.. The thought alone makes me giddy!
Other items of happiness include:

Both of the above have amazing stories to tell!

I'm pretty sure the above items are self contained moments of pure bliss for anyone with a sweet tooth.
My favorite travel destination so far & such great history as a bonus!
I had better stop there, might need another happiness blog sometime ;)
I hope y'all have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteOh, I love the patterns too! I'm so pumped about finding some for myself! :) Although, it'd be really nice to find a wholesale fabric store I'm on the lookout for one of those. :) how have you been? Long time no blog talk! Hehe
